What this site is

Magic City Locals is a free community directory of businesses, places, events, news, and assistance organizations in and around Birmingham, Alabama. Using the site means you accept these terms.

Listings are information, not endorsements

A business or organization appearing here is not a recommendation, a certification, or a guarantee of anything. We are not affiliated with the businesses we list, we do not vet their work, and we receive nothing from them for being listed. Basic listings are free and stay free. Nobody buys a better position.

Accuracy, and its limits

We build listings from what businesses and organizations publish about themselves, and we check details before publishing. Even so, addresses move, phone numbers change, hours shift, events get rescheduled, and businesses close. We cannot promise everything here is current at the moment you read it.

Confirm details directly with the business or venue before you drive somewhere, spend money, or rely on an event happening. This matters most for two parts of the site:

• Community resources. Hours, eligibility, and intake procedures at food banks, shelters, and clinics change often. Call ahead. In an emergency, call 911. For crisis support, call or text 988. For general assistance referrals in Alabama, dial 211.
• Events. Dates and times come from the venue or promoter and can change or sell out after we publish. Check the venue's own page before making plans.

Ratings and reviews

Where a rating appears, it was published by another platform such as Google, Yelp, or Facebook, and the card names which one. We do not collect our own reviews, we do not calculate these scores, and we cannot change or remove them. They are a snapshot from when we checked, not a live figure. Take them up with the platform that hosts them.

Photos and content

Listing photos generally come from each business's own public listing or website. News summaries are written by us from the linked reporting, and every story credits and links to the original outlet. If you hold rights to something published here and want it removed, email us and we will take it down promptly. You do not need to send a legal notice first.

The site's own writing, design, and code belong to Magic City Locals. Business names, logos, and trademarks belong to their owners.

Submitting a business

If you submit a listing, you confirm the information is accurate and that you are entitled to share it. We review submissions by hand and may edit, decline, or remove a listing at our discretion, including anything misleading, unlawful, or not actually local. Submitting does not guarantee publication.

Links to other sites

This site links out constantly, to businesses, venues, ticket sellers, and news outlets. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or what happens when you use them.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent Alabama law allows, Magic City Locals is not liable for losses arising from your use of the site or from reliance on information published here, including outdated listings, incorrect contact details, or cancelled events.

Corrections and removals

If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. If you own a listed business and want the listing changed or removed for any reason, say so and we will do it. No explanation required.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change when we do, and continuing to use the site means accepting the current version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to conflict of law rules.
